True to Panerai's earliest military-issue Luminor watches, this 47mm reference uses a Hesalite crystal rather than sapphire — softer and more prone to surface scratches, but far more resistant to shattering under impact, and any scuffs can simply be buffed out rather than requiring replacement. The black dial and hand-wound manual movement, good for a 72-hour power reserve, complete a faithful, oversized take on Panerai's founding design. The crown-protecting lever device on the case side, patented by Panerai in 1956, remains one of the most recognizable details in all of watchmaking.
